What you will do 

As a Product Owner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with several teams throughout the implementation and go-live phases of the project.
  • Managing the TGMS UAT process from beginning to end of each sprint.
  • Defining and maintaining a UAT roadmap.
  • Driving alignment among key stakeholders on priorities to address.
  • Defining key performance indicators relating to the UAT experience.
  • Involving both internal and external users in the UAT process.
  • Assisting in the development of UAT test cases.
  • Collaborating closely with the Product Owners, Development and QA Teams.
  • Writing official release notes of items released in the sprint.
  • Providing a demonstration of items being tested and catering the demo to the group of users.
  • Performing customer research to obtain feedback which serve as the basis for UAT iterative improvements.

 

What you need to succeed

Education

  • Diploma of a post-secondary program in computer science, information technology, information management or a related field, OR an acceptable combination of education, training, or experience.

Assets:

  • Certificate or Certification in Product Management (e.g. Certified Product Manager, Certified Scrum Product Owner, Agile Certified Product Manager and Product Owner).

Foreign Credential Validation against Canadian Standards

 

Experience

  • Experience in eliciting, analyzing and documenting business or functional requirements
  • Experience working in Information Technology projects or supporting operational systems
  • Experience in developing and executing workflows
  • Experience facilitating discussions with stakeholders or clients
  • Experience providing strategic and operational advice to senior management.

 

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Product Development best practices and techniques

Assets

  • Knowledge of the Government of Canada Policy on Service and Digital, and the Directive on the Management of Projects and Programs
  • Knowledge of the research community and of the university setting in Canada
