Canada’s three federal research granting agencies (“the Agencies”), the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), are partnering on the Tri-Agency Grants Management Solution (TGMS) project. What you will do 

The Curriculum Development Advisor creates, designs, and develops learning strategies and curricula to support targeted training objectives for the TGMS project. The incumbent provides training to agency staff and external stakeholders on new and/or revised procedures and systems.

This role provides advice related to the format of the training approach, designs and delivers the training material, and develops assessment criteria to measure the effectiveness of training. Regular responsibilities also include monitoring changes to business processes, system functionality and technology to create and maintain standard operating procedures and apply updates to the training materials, as well as making recommendations for changes to reflect learner feedback, business changes, and support continuous improvements.

 

What you need to succeed

Education

Experience

  • Experience in curriculum design and development, including the planning, creation, and evaluation using instructional design models (includes web-based learning content).
  • Experience in implementing adult learning principles. 
  • Experience delivering virtual and in person training in both official languages (English and French).
  • Experience in conducting research, assembling information from multiple sources and creating effective learning content from the information gathered.
  • Experience engaging with internal and external clients and colleagues to understand training needs and develop curriculum and training materials.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of emerging trends and best practices in training development, including delivery methods that meet the Accessibility Act.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems, digital adoption tools, eLearning software and technology and/or other training software and technology.
