What you will do
As a Compensation Advisor serving both NSERC (non-unionized) and SSHRC (unionized), you will provide functional expertise and operational leadership in the delivery of comprehensive pay, compensation, and benefits services. You’ll support HR and finance partners, managers, and employees while ensuring alignment with all applicable legislation, policies, and collective agreements.
What you need to succeed
Education
- Completion of secondary school education or employer-approved alternatives.
Experience
- Experience interpreting collective agreements and/or Terms and Conditions of Employment
- Experience providing advice to clients on complex pay and benefits issues in a federal public service context
- Experience using the Phoenix pay system
- Experience using a Human Resources Management System (e.g. PeopleSoft or MyGCHR)
Knowledge
- Knowledge of policies, directives, and legislation related to pay and benefits in the federal public service
