What you will do
As a member of the Human Resources Division, serving the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), you deliver client-focused staffing services by providing advice, guidance, and administrative support to hiring managers and employees across a range of staffing activities. You also support the delivery of HR services by serving as a subject matter resource for the organization’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS), providing training and guidance, coordinating system updates, troubleshooting issues, optimizing current processes, and conducting quality assurance reviews to support consistent and compliant staffing processes.
Using strong problem-solving skills and initiative, you proactively identify issues, implement improvements, and contribute to enhancing HR tools and processes. You work collaboratively to build effective relationships and provide practical HR advice across a range of subject areas. In this role, you also support staffing and recruitment activities, including working closely with team members on selected assessment and selection processes to build practical experience and strengthen core HR competencies.
What you need to succeed
Education
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable relevance to this position, or an acceptable combination of education, experience or training relevant to the position.
- Foreign Credential Validation against Canadian Standards
Experience
- Experience providing administrative, operational or client service support;
- Experience using systems, databases or technology platforms (e.g., Applicant Tracking Systems or similar platforms) to support operations, ensure data integrity, or improve processes;
- Experience identifying issues, gaps or opportunities for improvement in processes and implementing solutions to improve efficiency or service delivery;
- Experience in supporting staffing and recruitment activities (e.g., coordinating processes, supporting selection activities, and/or managing recruitment actions) would be considered an asset;
- Experience using HR systems such as VidCruiter or MyGCHR would be considered an asset.
